“Kids Being Drugged”
The facts are that even though there have at least 25 scientific clinical trials conducted involving children and antidepressants, the pharmaceutical companies have not been able to establish the safety and efficacy of antidepressants to treat depressive disorders in children. The Australian regulator for prescription drugs the Therapeutic Goods Administration, TGA have not given approval for these drugs to be registered to be marketed for the use in children with depressive symptoms because the scientific evidence does not support their use or meet the standards the TGA recommend for drugs before they can be legally and officially registered.
So how is it possible that last year nearly 300,000 prescriptions for antidepressants were written to Australian Children and funded by the Federal Government via the PBS Schedule? The government are aware that doctors are that even though they have not approved these drugs for children that the doctors have been steadily increasing the prescriptions to children, clearly ignoring the warnings and lack of approval and That is something that we are lobbying to have investigated and we would appreciate your support and feedback on this issue.
Recently the TGA confirmed in a statement to The Weekend Australian that it had established a special expert panel to review the adverse reactions related to these drugs, it is believed that hundreds of cases will be reviewed yet currently there are 57,000 adverse reactions registered with the department for psychiatric drugs alone.
We need your support to lobby the government to ensure that this investigation is opened up to the people and the facts are made available to all Australians.

We wish to inform you of the risks and dangers relating to the proposed treatment from these services and to ensure that both patients and families are given more than just a sales pitch before being deceived into a life time of unnecessary drug therapy that can and has caused unnecessary harm and injury to thousands and thousands of innocent people and children.
We want your help to support our cause, so together we can demand action from those in Government who are supposed to be protecting our rights and our safety. We must ensure this department is held accountable for their failure to regulate and to protect their citizens.
